Thomas Leonard is a very dedicated individual and that is why he created USA Facebook Amputees. Founded in 2015, today the mission remains the same: To facilitate positive growth by providing information and personal testimonies from all members of the amputee community geared towards addressing the needs of pre-amputation and beyond.

This group welcomes all amputees of all amputation levels, age, race, ethnicity, political affiliation, gender, etc. It prides itself on boosting morale and encouraging those to adopt a growth mindset through encouragement as a new chapter is opened and worthy of exploration.

Most topics addressed in the group surround education, prosthetic components, lifestyle and skills development, pain management, and social engagement, but we always say there's never a silly question to be asked and most likely another person in the group is wondering the same thing or has already been through it. We started this site for amputees and family and friends of amputees. I hope by telling our story, we'll hear from others who can relate and give encouragement to others, by telling their stories and accomplishments.

Heather Abbott Foundation

Boston Bombing Survivor

Just four months following the bombing, Heather was living independently and returned to her job as a Human Resources Manager, on a part time basis. Within the first year following her amputation, she started participating in the activities she loves, including paddle boarding, running and wearing high heels.

Since then she started a foundation in name.

United Amputees

This organization has been setup in order to ensure the voice of the UK amputee and limb impaired is represented and heard at both a national and local level. To ensure the amputee population receives relevant and up to date information.
